More than 3,500 SPPS students received brand new winter coats courtesy of St. Paul Firefighters, IAFF Local 21 and Minneapolis Firefighters IAFF Local 82, during Operation Warm. This year, the program provided coats to students at three SPPS schools (Highwood Hills, Cherokee Heights and Obama Elementary) and two schools in Minneapolis. This is the fourth year that the Twin Cities firefighters have partnered with Operation Warm, a national non-profit dedicated to warming up winter for children in need through the gift of new winter coats.
